In a shocking incident in the Korchi taluka of Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district, a 32-year-old man has been arrested for the brutal murder of his wife. The accused, identified as Pradeep Harami, strangled his wife to death in their home.
Initially, Harami attempted to cover up the murder as an accident, claiming that his wife had slipped, fallen, and hit her head on the sofa. However, this deception was short-lived.

Upon conducting a thorough investigation, police discovered that Harami was a repeat offender. In 2018, he had strangled his girlfriend to death and was sentenced to three years in prison for the crime. He was recently released on bail in 2024.
Following his release, Harami’s family arranged his marriage to 21-year-old Chameli, a resident of Chhattisgarh. Despite being married, Harami continued to maintain an illicit relationship with another woman, exchanging photos and video calls.
Chameli became suspicious of her husband’s behaviour and confronted him with questions about the photos and their relationship. Enraged by her persistent inquiries, Harami strangled her to death on April 1. He then fabricated the story of an accidental fall.
However, the truth emerged when the autopsy report, released on April 5, revealed that Chameli had died from strangulation. Following this revelation, the police apprehended Harami and during interrogation, he confessed to the murder. Pradeep Harami is now in police custody, facing a thorough investigation for the murder of his wife.
