Taxation software
H&R Block/CNET

This year's tax deadline is almost here. While filing for taxes is a major chore, at least there's inexpensive tax software that can help you get it done. We recommend using one of the best tax software options on the market. One of our favorites is H&R Block, especially now that you can grab the Deluxe version for just $33, thanks to this deal from StackSocial. Keep in mind that you need to use the coupon code FILEEASY at checkout for the full discount. It typically costs $60, which means you'll save $27 with this discount. While there's no set deadline for this deal, April 15 is almost here, so it's wise to act fast so you can start filing.

While there are some free filing options out there, including H&R Block's free plan, H&R Block's Deluxe software helps walk you through the process, with guidance on money-saving credits and deductions. This software allows you to file up to five federal e-files and one state return. Note, however, that if you need additional state filings, those programs will cost $40 each. Additionally, while your federal e-file is free, your state e-file will cost $20, except in New York. (Also, state e-file is not available in New Hampshire.)

Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money.

Your purchase includes access to a help center, where H&R Block answers frequently asked questions and maintains more than 13,000 articles that should provide some answers if you get stuck. Another great perk: If you're audited by the IRS, an H&R Block agent will help you at no additional cost. Additionally, if you have previously used TurboTax software, you can import your information from last year's tax return to save time.

Why this deal matters

Taxes can be a pain when you're filing on your own, so getting top tax software to help simplify the process is a good idea. This deal can save you some cash compared to the regular cost, making now a great time to snag this software. This deal saves you $27, but it won't last long, so it's best to make your purchase sooner rather than later.
